Over the weekend of 18 and 19 June 2010, Alexandria hosts “Summer Nights 2010”, a festival of cultural activities bringing together representatives from all twenty-seven European Union member states as well as musicians and artists across the two shores of the Mediterranean.

This initiative is supported by a range of partners, including the Delegation of the European Union in Egypt, the Anna Lindh Euro-Mediterranean Foundation for the Dialogue Between Cultures, the Goethe Institute, the French Cultural Center, the Turkish Consulate as well as the members states of the European Union.

On Friday, 18 June 2010, Hip Hop Connection Concert takes place featuring Les Gourmets (France), Ayben (Turkey), Berlin Allstars (Germany), Y-Crew and Wighit Nazar (Egypt) youth music groups.

Europe Street Day is held on Saturday, 19 June 2010, a socio-cultural event with the overarching aim of building bridges across the Mediterranean, and communicating the European Union’s gastronomy, culture, art, folklore, as well as information and opportunities.

Both events are held at the Antoniadis Gardens, Smouha.
