“Ziryab: Icon of Cultural and Civilizational Convergence” at Sinnari House

The BA Sinnari House in Cairo is organizing a seminar entitled “Ziryab: Icon of Cultural and Civilizational Convergence” on Tuesday, 6 January 2026, at 6:00 pm.
The seminar will be presented by Dr. Mohamed Refaat El-Imam, Professor of Modern and Contemporary History and former Dean of the Faculty of Arts at Damanhour University, and Dr. Abdel Hamid Yehia, Professor of Management at the Military Academy for Postgraduate and Strategic Studies, who will also deliver a vocal performance during the evening.
The seminar will highlight Ziryab's cultural and artistic role and his affiliation with the Kurdish community under the Abbasid state and as part of the Islamic civilization.
It celebrates 12 centuries since Ziryab's departure from Baghdad to Cordoba to play a pivotal role in transferring the culture and literature of Islamic civilization to Western Europe.
