The Bibliotheca Alexandrina, in collaboration with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, is organizing a lecture entitled “Digital Citizenship and Youth Empowerment in Confronting Digital Addiction” on Sunday, 30 November 2025, at 11:00 am, in the BACC Delegates Hall.
The lecture aims to shed light on the role of national institutions in honing the skills of young people and empowering them to use technology safely and responsibly, in addition to the Ministry's contributions to developing the future skills of young people in the fields of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and digital work skills.
The event will host Dr. Hoda Dahroug, Advisor to the Minister of Communications and Information Technology for Digital Community Development and Director of the Digital Transformation for Sustainable Development Project, who will discuss the Ministry's efforts to empower young people digitally and address the risks of digital addiction. Her talk will be followed by a presentation by Eng. Asmaa Saber, Director of the Ministry's Digital Citizenship and Internet Protection Initiative, on the initiative's role in promoting responsible digital behavior among young people and adolescents.
The lecture will conclude with an open discussion that will give young people the opportunity to interact directly and ask questions about the optimal use of technology, as well as learn about the programs and grants offered by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and how to take part in them, thereby contributing to raising community awareness of the risks of the digital space.
