Prof. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, and the Library staff, congratulate the Egyptian novelist Mr. Mohamed Samir Nada for winning the eighteenth International Prize for Arabic Fiction for his novel The Prayer of Anxiety.
The BA is proud of this cultural achievement, as it is the culmination of a serious project pursued by Mr. Nada in writing, and a proof of the capacity of literature to express reality with high-level artistic tools. It also values the significance this novel adds to the Arab cultural scene.
It is worth mentioning that the Bibliotheca Alexandrina hosted the conference that announced the shortlist for the International Prize for Arabic Fiction on 19 February 2025, in a special ceremony attended by Prof. Yasir Suleiman, the Prize's Chair of Trustees, members of the judging committee, a host of writers, and those interested in Arab cultural affairs.
