“Egypt's Civilization and the Application of Geographic Information System in the Protection of Heritage” Exhibition

The BA Antiquities Museum and the Geographic Information System (GIS) Department in the Ministry of State for Antiquities will hold an exhibition entitled "Egypt's Civilization and the Application of Geographic Information System in Heritage Protection" from 22 to 27 September 2012.
The Exhibition highlights recent studies determining historic sites and their characteristics, and recording the information gained in a geographic information system and in databases.
It aims to provide specific information to partners in different sectors to realize the existence of such sites during maintenance and restoration processes, as well as land planning and management, followed by other economic and social activities.
Moreover, the Exhibition aims to assist national and international organizations whose activities include researching and protecting archaeological and historic sites, and providing them with information related to their work all over Egypt.
