"Scientific Research and Digital Transformation: Challenges and Opportunities” Seminar

The BA Center for Special Studies and Programs organizes a seminar on scientific research and digital transformation, on Monday, 13 May 2024, at 12:00 pm, in the BACC Small Theater.
The seminar will discuss the ongoing digital transformation revolution, which the scientific research is witnessing. It will shed light on the importance of developing a high-performance enabling environment for scientific research in the context of the rapid digital transformation. It will also address the opportunities and challenges researchers face in the digital age such as:
- How digital transformation and its driven technologies; including machine learning, artificial intelligence (AI), and other advanced technologies, are changing the whole scientific research ecosystem?
- How to address the unequal access between institutions and countries to the latest digital transformation tools and driven technologies.
- Ethical considerations: What ethical frameworks need to be established for AI and big data applications in scientific research?
- Digital and technological skills gap: what are the necessary skills researchers should acquire to cope with the rapid ongoing technological advancements?
