The Ancient Egyptian Calligraphy Conference
(24-26 April 2004)
The Conference aimed at studying the Ancient Egyptian calligraphy of the world. Within this framework, it covered the study of calligraphy according to a certain axis.
The Conference was within the framework of the various scripts of the Egyptian language as follows:

Hieroglyphic writing (calligraphy study, new trends in phonetic and publishing additional texts).
- Hieratic writing (calligraphy study, new trends in phonetic and publishing additional texts).
- Demotic writing (calligraphy study, new trends in phonetic and publishing additional texts).
- Coptic writing (calligraphy study, new trends in phonetic and publishing additional texts). The papers presented contained topics pertaining to the calligraphy study and some new trends in the phonetics of such scripts as well as publishing some new texts.
- The language of the Ptolemaic era (linguistic and calligraphy study).
- Comparative study of various calligraphies.
- New studies in the field of Ancient Egyptian grammar.
- Writing tools and materials.
- The role of writing in establishing cultures and creating dialogue among these cultures.
